Advocacy group for compliance packaging want to build its membership
Unit-dose packaging (aka “compliance” packaging) remains—as it has been for many years—the preferred packaging system in Europe and other parts of the world, but an also-ran in the United States. The reasons for this are manyfold: Compliance packaging tends to be more expensive; it doesn’t jibe with the pill-counting practices in retail pharmacies; it can create inventory-management problems. But, it is also a required part of hospital pharmacy dispensing (thus requiring many hospitals to repackage dosages—an added expense for them); it better controls the atmosphere in which a pill is stored; and it can be a valuable tool for better patient adherence.
To foster higher interest in compliance packaging—and attract more members—the Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council is holding a free-to-the-public webinar on July 21. The signup is at this address: https://lobby.mc.iconf.net/gcc/r.asp?ba=300000434&I=400626423
