Renaissance Lakewood Completes Campus Renovation

The project features several enhancements, including a new 67,000 square-foot warehouse at its HQ.

Renaissance Lakewood, LLC, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that specializes in the development and commercialization of nasal products, has unveiled its new, 67,000 square-foot warehouse at their headquarters in Lakewood, NJ, which is its 1215 Paco Way location.1

This multi-million-dollar expansion—consisting of a facility upgrade—increases the CDMO’s total Ocean County footprint to 370,000 square feet.

“The completion of our new warehouse operation marks the culmination of many years of planning for and investing in our facilities,” said Serge Maltais, president & CEO of Renaissance. “This significant increase in capacity—together with our implementation of smart, efficiency-focused technology—enables us to provide our customers with a comprehensive, customized experience.”

Included in the manufacturing upgrades is the company’s completed installation and qualification of a new high-speed nasal spray assembly line, which, according to the CDMO, is able to assemble and package unit-dose and bi-dose nasal spray devices at a faster rate.

“Our integrated assembly and packaging line incorporates innovative and patented automation and inspection technologies that have been transformational in our operations,” noted Jeffrey Higginson, VP of operations. “These novel approaches to manufacturing have led to improved efficiency, product quality, and an overall unparalleled level of capacity which demonstrate our commitment to maintaining our industry leading position.”

In addition to this new line, Renaissance continues to operate multiple filling, assembly, and packing lines that offer customers redundancy as well as the ability to scale products from pre-clinical through commercial scale manufacturing.

Meanwhile, at its 1220 Paco Way facility, there is a new 31,000 square-foot structure that contains a state-of-the-art, quality control (QC) spray/particulate laboratory as well as both the analytical and formulation research and development laboratories. The size of the QC spray laboratory has increased by nearly three times, while another non-classified area containing a growing room was designed to test particulate samples.

Renaissance also moved its analytical research & development (AR&D) area to share good manufacturing practice (GMP) analytical equipment for most AR&D tests, while formulation research & development re-located to a non-GMP area of the building.

“We are very excited to meet the testing needs of our clients now and in the future,” commented Kimberly Ernst, VP of product development and laboratory services. “These new laboratory spaces provide us with the capability to have a significant impact on product and research development. We are confident these new spaces will exceed our clients’ expectations, and we look forward to expanding our reach in the global marketplace.”
